Shelton Travel Service was founded in 1945 by Kay Shelton. She was a real pioneer, starting the first female owned agency in a five state area. She overcame early obstacles and Shelton Travel grew to become one of the top 10 travel agencies in the Kansas City area.

In 1979 Mark Ebbitts (son of Kay Shelton) joined the agency after a very rewarding career as an Electrical Engineer. In 1989 he became President of Shelton Travel, and Kay was named Chairman.

Until 1995 we were located in downtown Kansas City, at which time we moved to much larger quarters near the Country Club Plaza. We are located at 4800 Belleview Avenue, just 2 blocks west of the Plaza. Our offices are right on the corner, with convenient free parking in front.

Our staff has a combined 225 years experience in the travel industry.  Mary Nieman and  Melody C are our corporate reservations specialists.   Ron Croslin,  Dick Rubenstein,  Peggy McDowell, Jack Poessiger, Andrea Robinson, Claire Malott,  Linda French are vacation specialists and also do corporate reservations. Gwenna Pence is our specialist on Africa and handles many trips and safaris. Mark Ebbitts our president is in the office daily. Linda C.  helps with accounting, Lisa E with marketing, and Whitney H. assists in brochure stocking and ordering.
